Forgive me while I play a bit of catch-up. A lot of life has happened since I last wrote a blog post. I love looking back through the posts and hope to do a better job of documenting as things are actually happening.
I put an embarrassing amount of thought into kids’ birthday parties before I even had one of my own. I started planning William’s just shortly after he was born. Well, I planned it on Pinterest, that is. I’m a procrastinator at heart - always full of big ideas! I had a vision of what I wanted everything to look like, but it was much harder to do with an almost one-year-old. Not to mention, he had a double ear infection just days before on his actual birthday. Somehow, and with the help of my crew, it all came together beautifully.
We wanted to not only celebrate his first birthday, but we also wanted to take the opportunity to have Harrison’s grandfather pray over us and dedicate him to the Lord since we had our families and friends there. I went with a “Peter Rabbit” theme because it was sweet, and he was born2 days after Easter. My grandmother passed away in January, so we had it in her garden. While she wasn’t physically with us, having it in her garden where she spent so much time was the perfect tribute. It was truly a perfect day!
